The Science of Authenticity: How Our Emotions Shape Reality
Measuring Well-Being: The SPANE Study in Germany
In the ever-evolving field of Positive Psychology, researchers have long sought to understand what makes a life well-lived. One such effort, the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE), was developed to measure the frequency of positive and negative emotions rather than just their intensity. The German validation of SPANE, conducted with nearly 500 participants, confirmed that it is a reliable tool for assessing subjective well-being (SWB)—a key factor in overall happiness, productivity, and even health.
The study found that:
Positive emotions, such as joy and contentment, were strongly linked to greater life satisfaction.
Negative emotions, such as sadness and fear, reduced well-being but were subject to change based on life events.
The scale was sensitive to life experiences and interventions, meaning that changes in well-being could be scientifically tracked over time.
The implications of this research go beyond psychology. When viewed through the lens of energy and consciousness, it aligns with a growing body of evidence suggesting that our emotional states create measurable vibrational frequencies—a phenomenon that has been explored using Faraday cages.
This was originally brought to my attention by one of my favorite human biologists, Gary Brecka, which led me down the rabbit hole.

Faraday Cages & Human Vibrational Frequency
A Faraday cage is a structure designed to block external electromagnetic fields (EMFs), allowing scientists to measure the body's own electrical and vibrational properties in isolation. In past experiments, researchers placed individuals inside these cages to study brain waves, heart coherence, and bioelectromagnetic fields. What they found was groundbreaking:
Our Bodies Emit Frequencies
The human body naturally produces electromagnetic fields, primarily through the heart and brain. This aligns with research from the HeartMath Institute, which shows that positive emotions like love, gratitude, and authenticity generate highly coherent energy fields.Emotions Affect Our Energy Output
When people experience positive emotions, their heart rate variability (HRV) becomes more synchronized, creating a stronger and more harmonious energy field.
Stress, fear, and deception lead to chaotic, lower-frequency patterns, which can even be detected in studies on human interaction.
Isolation Increases Self-Awareness
Some participants inside Faraday cages reported a heightened sense of internal awareness, as if blocking external noise allowed them to feel their own bioelectrical rhythm more clearly. Esoteric researchers suggest that this silence of external interference can help individuals tap into their true essence—which brings us to the concept of authenticity.Authenticity: The Highest Vibrational State
If emotions have a measurable frequency, then it follows that some states of being vibrate higher than others. Across both scientific and spiritual traditions, authenticity—being completely true to oneself—is often seen as one of the highest vibrational states a person can achieve.
1. Authenticity Creates Coherence
Being authentic means living in alignment with your true thoughts, emotions, and values, without masking or distorting your reality. Studies show that authenticity is correlated with:
Lower stress and anxiety
Stronger interpersonal connections
Increased heart-brain coherence (a measurable form of high vibrational energy)
When individuals are authentic, their bioelectromagnetic field becomes stronger and more organized, much like the positive emotional states measured in the SPANE study.
2. The Opposite of Authenticity: Low-Vibration Living
On the flip side, living inauthentically—whether through self-doubt, fear, or external pressure—creates internal discord, much like the chaotic energy fields observed in stressed individuals inside Faraday cages. This misalignment can lead to:
Emotional exhaustion
Increased anxiety and depression
Weakened personal energy and presence
3. The Ripple Effect: High Vibes Impact Others
Just as studies on happiness contagion suggest that a joyful teacher can elevate an entire classroom's mood, authenticity is contagious. When one person fully embodies their truth, they emit a high-vibrational frequency that can influence and inspire those around them.
This connects back to the SPANE study, which found that people with greater subjective well-being (a state highly influenced by authenticity) tend to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Bringing It All Together: Science, Energy & The Power of Being You
So, what does all this mean?
Science confirms that well-being is measurable – The SPANE study proved that positive and negative emotions directly impact life satisfaction and can be tracked over time.
Our bodies emit energy fields that change with emotion – Experiments using Faraday cages demonstrate that emotions produce electromagnetic frequencies, influencing both ourselves and others.
Authenticity is a high-frequency state – Living truthfully aligns your heart, mind, and body, creating a coherent, powerful energy field that elevates not just you, but also those around you.
In a world filled with distractions and external influences, tuning into your authentic self is one of the most powerful things you can do. Science, psychology, and metaphysics all point to the same truth:
The more aligned you are with who you truly are, the higher you vibrate—and the more you transform your life and the world around you.
